Chicago Love Story

Hannah and Tyler first met in 2022 in Chicago, their first date was at Corcoran's, a classic Chicago Irish Pub in Old Town. Hannah was travel nursing at the time, and was only working in Chicago for a few short months. She had about 3 weeks left in Chicago before she went on to Charleston, so they had felt very lucky to have met when they did. They had so much in common immediately, and bonded over their love for dogs. Tyler has a shepherd named Jax and Hannah has an Olde English Bulldogge named Otis that are best buddies now. They joke that had the boys not gotten along, the relationship simply wouldn't have worked between them! They spent a lot of time together over the first week, recognizing that we only had a short amount of time to get to know each other before she moved on to her next stop. After about a week, Tyler knew that he wanted to continue pursuing Hannah... he offered to drive with Hannah to Charleston to help her get settled in her new home. They had an amazing experience heading out to Charleston, stopping in Nashville for a couple of nights. After arriving in Charleston, after a few days, Tyler got COVID and was forced to stay in Charleston for an extra 10 days. Over those 10 days, they got a glimpse of what life together could be like. Unfortunately, Tyler's grandfather suddenly passed away that same week while in Charleston. Hannah took care of Tyler, and after that trip, Tyler knew Hannah was the one. Over the coming months, Tyler flew out to Charleston frequently to visit, and Hannah (when her nursing schedule permitted) came to visit Tyler, specifically to see his band play at Chicago venues like Lincoln Hall, Schubas, Joe's on Weed, etc. Eventually, Tyler convinced Hannah to move to Chicago full time. After a couple of years, Tyler knew it was time to "pop the question". The weekend of August 16th, 2024 Tyler had a big show on the Chicago River, so we already had family coming into town. The night before the show, Tyler took Hannah to their favorite restaurant Travoli Tavern for Happy Hour while Tyler's sister and Hannah's sister went to their house to decorate the roof and set up the scene. They arrived back from Travoli, went straight to the roof, and Tyler proposed. Afterwards, they went and met family at Club Lucky, and then Tyler surprised Hannah with a big engagement party at their favorite bar Gracie O'malley's. They live a very happy life together in Wicker Park with Jax and Otis, enjoying everything Chicago has to offer.
