Elegant Wedding at Gibson Island Club with A.Dominick Events

“For this sweet bride, it was all about the 'gram.  Monogram that is.  If it wasn't nailed down, she slapped her custom Flourishing Penguin monogram on it.  Everything from linen napkins or plates, plastic cups to the ribbon on her bouquet. For the color palette she had a ton of fun with pink and blue, careful not to have a wedding that looked like a baby shower.  Victoria Clausen Floral created amazing tablescapes of pink and blue with lush greenery.  They incorporated silver vessels and candelabras to tie in the bride's love of all things vintage and inspired by her grandma,” said Aimee Dominick of A.Dominick Events.

“Our wedding was a combination of pinks, greens and blues, monograms, family touches and nods to the military.  I am so thankful for my mom and wedding planner, Aimee Dominick, who helped me take all of those ideas and it into the beautiful evening. I love pink and always have but wanted Will to feel a part of the color scheme, so I told him it would not be an all pink wedding. Gibson Island is situated on the Chesapeake Bay, and the blue from the water and green grass flanking the lawn helped tie all of the colors together. I love my monogram and when Will and I started dating, I noticed that he had a lot of things monogrammed too! We had a custom monogram created and incorporated that on different elements throughout the evening. I love the antique vintage monograms that used to be so popular and incorporated on linens pre-1930s. I wanted to create something like that for us, and incorporate it into the wedding design. Finally, Will is in the Maryland National Guard and his service has played a big part on our life, (he left for Afghanistan shortly after we met and will have to go again). I knew I wanted to pay tribute to that and am lucky because my dad has a World War II Army jeep, so it was perfect.  One of my favorite memories was the saber exit from the church and then jumping into the army jeep and driving away.", said Caroline.

“I wanted a timeless, classic look that really brought elements of Will and me into it. I am very preppy but knew I didn’t want a nautical preppy look, despite being on the water. I also wanted the view from the club to be a big part, so that was why we sat everyone inside and on the porch and didn’t block it with a tent. I also love black-tie, so I knew I wanted a black-tie wedding.”

“We had AMAZING weather! It could not have been a nicer day, and I mentally prepared myself for bad weather and was okay if that happened. I never imagined a light breeze, no humidity, crystal clear day at the end of June. It was perfect! Burying the bourbon really worked!  How excited we would be to see everyone – it was so special to have all of your closest friends and family in one room.”
